CHRISTMAS BREAK!

I’m home now, in Philadelphia, for two whole weeks. It is such a relief to be home for the holidays, and to know that I don’t have to worry about work or school until after the New Year. My mom drove up to New York on Friday, and came to meet me on the set of "Guiding Light." She watched us shoot a handful of scenes, and when we were finished, she remarked that she couldn’t believe how much I looked and acted like Cassie (my character’s mother) in all of the scenes. She said it was really weird to see.

After my day of work was done at "Guiding Light," Mom and I shopped till we dropped. We bought tons of presents. We were really happy with everything we found. New York is great for shopping! After a full day, we drove back to Philly, along with my dog, ChiChi, and cat, Fiyero.

Since getting home, I’ve been enjoying lots of holiday cheer. Yesterday was my church’s annual Community Carol Sing; we all got together in the church and sang Christmas carols for an hour and a half. I always love it. Today my mom and I baked gingerbread men. I snitched plenty of dough, and it was so yummy.

This week will be filled with a bit of last-minute shopping, wrapping presents, cleaning the house, and generally preparing for Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day. Most importantly, I will be relaxing! I highly recommend that everyone watch "Guiding Light’s" Christmas episode on Friday, the 24th. Not only are all the storylines rockin’ in general right now (I’m hooked myself!), but I remember crying when I read the script for the Christmas episode. It’s so sweet; it’s the perfect thing to watch for Christmas. (Ok, so maybe I’m a little biased, but I wouldn’t lie, I promise.)

I wanted to take a moment to say thanks to everyone who’s been posting replies on my blog. I read all of them, of course, and they’re all so sweet! It’s nice to hear everyone’s thoughts; all of the Paris tips are great, and the ideas for my paper were incredible! So here’s a quick shout-out to DeliaDelion, Erin, Amber, Rosalie, Lara, Racquel, Angie, Monica, Mandi, Chip, Amanda, and Kellie, and anyone else I might have missed. I hope you all have a fabulous holiday season. (That goes for everyone!)

Hey!
MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR! I sent you a Christmas card to the studio, hope you got it in time, lol!

I've always thought you did a great job of acting like Cassie...I've said a thousand times that GL does such a great job of casting children of characters that act and sometimes look like their onscreen parent. Your mannerisms and the way you say things sometimes is SO Cassie. You're GREAT!

Can't wait for the Christmas episode! I'm really looking forward to it!

Happy Holidays!

Hi Stephanie!
I just wanted to tell you what a great job you are doing on GL. I'm 19 and have been watching the show with my mom since kindergarten and my mom has been watching for over 35 years. I don't really know that much about you, but I see that you go to college. What year are you? I'm a Freshman @ The University of Pittsburgh and I live about an hour from campus. Well I just wanted to tell you hello. I also agree that you and Cassie are extremely alike! Keep up the good work and Have a wonderful Holiday!

Well, I tried to post my response to you this morning and I guess I shouldn't do these things before caffine - lol. Anyway, it not only posted twice...it went in under November 16. If that's an indication of how my day today will be, I think I'm ready to start it over - LOL.

Stephanie, wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a 2005 filled with many blessings!

Hey Stephanie,

That was really sweet of you to mention all of us in your last blog. It is so nice Christmas is finally here. Let us know what kinds of things you got for Christmas. As you know I am a teacher and today was the last day of school before Christmas break. What a relief. There is only 6 more months in the school year and then summer break. I plan on going to school for masters in school psychology next year, and I plan on going full time. I am happy about that. When do you finish your English degree? Where are you going to school again? Well I know that you are in Philadelphia, I hope you have an awesome time in Philly and who knows maybe I will see you some place in olde city one weekend.
Guiding Light has a wonderful storyline going. Keep up the great work, you are doing a fabulous job as Tammy. Even though the storyline is wonderful, I still miss Philip Spaulding;hope he is happy wherever he is, and I hope Guiding Light finds some way to bring him back.hint,hint....we never actually saw the body at his funeral.....you never know.

Have an awesome Christmas and a wonderful new year.

Love,
Monica

Stephanie-

THanks so much for the shout outs. I read about 15 blogs bi-weekly or so (the same people/teams), I really enjoy knowing what other people are up to. When I get the chance to post I always like to jump on it.

I read yours and John D's, Zach Braff and Josh Braff, then there is one called "Why am I up at 3am" from a girl in Atlanta- It's really good, she don't post that often but she has poems and "I hate him" letters and I can't figure out if she's bi-sexual or not and she refers to herself as "Yo Momma" so it's really entertaining.

Anyway-

Hope you had a Merry Christmas and be careful bringing in the New Year.

Merry Christmas. I watched the Christmas episode and you were right it was really good. Also you do look and act like Laura Wright alot on the show. They couldn't of picked a better match for mother and daughter.

Hey,
Me again, lol. I know you're sick of hearing from me! But I just saw the Senses Fail video "Buried A Lie"!! It was so awesome! My sister was watching FUSE and it came on,I knew you were in it so I was watching, then I saw Frank in the police station (I laughed so hard) me and my mom both yelled-"THATS FRANK!" and then Justin was on there, and I was like "and Joey Lupo!" And they used the Beacon and Jail set too! And wasn't that where Richard's grave was? That was so cool! I wasn't expecting a whole Guiding Light video. Really Awesome. You looked so cute!

Stephanie,

I just now found your blog, and I really enjoy it. I've been a GL fan ever since I was a little kid - my grandmother and mother were always fans. You're one of my absolute favorites on the show, especially when it comes to younger actresses. Anyway, I just wanted to share my support and let you know that you're doing such a great job. Also, I had a question that you might be able to answer. Do you know where I could find a scarf like the one you were wearing on the Christmas episode? I absolutely loved it, it was so pretty. Also, how do you manage to be a student and an actress? I can't imagine how tough it must be to balance everything, especially with one of the biggest storylines on the show. You do an amazing job, and I hope you're with Guiding Light for many years to come!!! Happy new year, hope you're enjoying your break, I look forward to keeping up with your blog!!!
