THE IDES OF MARCH

Life’s been busy lately, although I always think busy is a good thing. I’ve had a lot of work to do for my classes, mostly reading novels and watching films and writing little papers. I’ve also been working at "Guiding Light" a few days a week. A few weeks ago I went to the Writer’s Guild of America Awards, where "Guiding Light’s" writing team won an award. I was so happy to be there to cheer them on, because the writing on "Guiding Light" has really gotten so good over the past year or so. (To see photos from the event, click here).

The weekend after that, was a charity weekend in Las Vegas. I brought Jason along with me, and we joined other actors from "Guiding Light" and other soaps at a bunch of events that raised money for children’s charities. It was a really fun weekend. I got to gamble a little bit. Jason and I decided that "Let it Ride," a poker game, was the most fun. We also had some free time to hang out with my friends from work, going out for a nice dinner and partying at a nightclub. Everyone behaved themselves (I was a little worried it might get crazy in Vegas), and we all really had a good time.

I’ve been starting to apartment hunt, since I’ll be moving out of my current apartment in a month or so. It’s a very scary thing to do in New York City, where a 500 square foot studio usually costs more than a fancy 2-bedroom apartment in some other cities, like Philadelphia. I’m very excited to be moving, though. It’ll be a chance to have fun decorating and everything.
My birthday is coming up this Wednesday. I’m thinking I’ll invite some friends to go out and sing karaoke. That’d be fun. I’ll be 22 years old. Wow. Some days I feel like I’m still 16. But I guess I’m a grown-up now. Ha ha.

I got to spend some time with Justin Klosky (ex-Joey on "Guiding Light," and one of my best friends in the world) last night. I invited him and his girlfriend to join me and some other friends for a night out on the town. I miss having Justin around at "Guiding Light," but luckily we’ve maintained our friendship and still hang out fairly often. He’s still doing the whole actor thing, auditioning all the time. He brought me a little something for my birthday last night: a big bag of candy! He knows me so well.

I highly recommend tuning in to "Guiding Light" this week. Some really cool episodes that I had a lot of fun making will be airing. So tune in, and then let me know what you think…

Hey Stephanie,

That's great you have been busy. It is tough going to school and working. I don't know how you do it. I might have to do it next year, and I get so tired after work, I guess I will see what happens. That is great you are apartment shopping. I just got my real estate license. I would help you find something but I can only sell in PA. However if you or your mom are looking to buy in the Philadelphia area....I would love to help you find something. I will give you my card at the fanclub gathering.....
Later,
Monica

Stephanie-

I'm having so much fun jumping from your blog to JD's blog. I live a busy life, but not near what you have. My events are more spaced out than yours are- time off work is impossible these days.

BTW- Happy Birthday. Hope you get that chance to Karaoke. I have a machine in my living room hooked up to a seperate television. (It's special) Hope you get everything you want.

How is your brother doing? My BrotherInLaw, Thom, is in Fallujah right now. They got bombed once - THANK YOU LORD- no one was hurt, and last week he sprained his ankle running. He is a Marine- his wife is worried- they live in Jacksonville, NC.

Good luck with the apartment search. I know a girl at church that is wanting to attend some ballet school there and is doing some searching on her own. I'm trying to get my cousin who used to live in the city and do ballet help her out, but my cousin is kind of sour in that area since she can't dance anymore.

Have some great next days.

Stephanie,

I am glad to hear that you have been busy. School can be a pain sometimes but I guess that is sometimes the best part because you know that in a few years you will graduate and all of the stress will be well worth it.

Glad to hear that you had fun in Vegas and at the WGA! I am so proud of GL for winning! It has been so good lately.

I hope that you find you another apartment.

Happy Birthday! I hope that you have a great time and get what you want! It's also great that you still hang out with Justin. I miss him so much of Joey.

Well I hope that you have a wonderful week and I will be sure to tune in to the Light!!

Hey Stephanie,

It sounds like you have been having a blast these passed few weeks! One of my friends went to the events in Vegas and I got to see some cute pictures! There was lots of pics of you too!
Well, I hope you have a wonderful 22nd birthday! My 21st is coming up on May 6th. (The big birthday that is!) LOL! I love your website. I post on the boards almost daily. It's a great site! Well, keep up the great work on GL and good luck moving.
Much love,
Amber

Hey Steph!

It's always great to read your blogs. I had so much fun in Vegas, and thought you and Jason were just adorable.

Happy Belated Birthday, too! I hope it was a great one! And good luck on the apartment hunt...I remember how stressful that was for me...I imagine it is only 10 times worse in NYC!

I'm glad to hear Justin is doing well. Please let him know that he is missed!

I can't wait to see what you have coming up. I always love your scenes with Tom and Scott too. And GL has really been so great! I loved the scenes with Tammy and Jonathan in the parking garage. Jonathan needs a friend, and I think besides Reva, Tammy is the only one who sees Jonathan's vulnerable side.

Till next time...
Amanda

P.S.--I'll have to send you that pic of you and Jason I took. It turned out well.
