HOME/WORK

I went home to Philadelphia for the weekend, Thursday through Saturday. It was great. I helped my mom clean out my bedroom and the basement, had a nice dinner with my dad, and got to hang out a little bit with my best friend, Sarah. My mom is preparing to move into a new house at the end of September. So before packing up, she wanted to clean out and organize as much as possible. I wasn’t really looking forward to it, to be honest. However, I ended up having a great time looking through boxes and trunks full of old stuff.

We found all of my old stuffed animals (of which there were many- as in, five or six garbage bags worth). I love stuffed animals, and we ended up hanging on to most of them because I’m so sentimentally attached to them. I found old school papers, tons of pictures, etc... I even found a diary I wrote when I was eight years old. In it I had written, "When I grow up I want to act on stage and play the piano." A few entries later I wrote, again, "I want to be experienced in acting." It’s great to look back on that now that I’m making that dream come true! It’s such a nice feeling. I’ve been really lucky.

One worrisome thought kept nagging me while I was home, and that was that my kitten was in the hospital. She started throwing up a lot, and had stopped eating. By the time the vet saw her, she was severely dehydrated and not doing well. I was so worried about her. But the vet called me on Saturday morning and said that May had done a complete 180, and was looking much better. Now she’s home, and acting like her normal crazy self again. Thank God. She’s such a little sweetie.

Jason and I went out for dim sum on Sunday afternoon. We met up with my friend Y.P. in Chinatown, and he took us to the Golden Bridge, where we stuffed ourselves with all kinds of yummy foods. Y.P. is a janitor at the "Guiding Light" studio, and has become somewhat of a father-figure to me. His daughter and I are the same age, so he feels very protective of me, just like I’m another daughter. Anyway, it was my first dim sum experience, and I really enjoyed it.

I’ve been watching "Guiding Light" every morning to see how all of our hard work a few weeks ago has turned out. It’s been really exciting. My character’s been kidnapped by a scary man (who, by the way, was played by one of the sweetest actors I’ve ever met, Ritchie Coster—after each scene was over, he’d apologize for being so mean!), and she’s been feeling torn between the good guy that she should love, and the cousin/lover who hurt her deeply in the past, but who she just can’t get over. Like I said, exciting stuff. It really makes me look forward to going to work. There’s always something interesting going on!

Speaking of which, it’s 10pm, and I’ve got work tomorrow. I better go memorize my lines!

Stephanie,
You do such great work on Guiding Light! The kidnapping scenes were great. I like your character Tammy with Sandy, but I'm very curious to find out his "mysterious past" that they haven't mentioned a lot about. Tammy and Jonathan also have great chemistry, but I don't really like the whole idea of "kissing cousins". Anyways, I can't wait to see what's coming up next for Tammy -- Keep up the great work! You rock!

Well, I don't know how you felt about it, but I'd say your hard work paid off tenfold! The kidnapping scenes were riveting, and left me wondering if I was crazy for loving the "Jonathan-to-the-rescue" element of the story. You and Tom just jump off the screen when you are together! If Tammy and Jonathan weren't cousins, I'd be all for them! As such, I would still like to see them develop a strong familial relationship. I can see Jonathan being a protector of sorts for Tammy, making sure she is dating the right kind of guy, and so on. I guess we'll see how it all plays out. But I am enjoying the ride!

Glad you had a good time in Philadelphia. I just spent a day at my parents looking through old stuff too. That is a lot of fun. And I hope May makes a full recovery!

Hi Stephanie,

I've enjoyed reading your blog from the begining, but this is my first time commenting ~ cause I just had to take the opportunity to tell you how amazing you and Tom have been the last few weeks!! Ever since the Christmas episode when Jon left so Tammy could be with her family, I have been rooting for "Jammy!" And the last few weeks have prooved I was right to! You two have such great chemistry together, my heart just breaks watching their angst unfold! I hope TPTB continue with Jammy! I don't really care if they are 1/2 cousins, they belong together and know each other better than anyone else! :-)

Glad to hear May is doing better! I have a bunch of my old stuffed animals too ~ mainly Pound Puppies:-)

Hi Stephanie!

Just wanted to tell you how great you are doing on GL! Your recent scenes with Tom have been awesome! Tammy and Jonathon have such awesome chemistry together and I was riveted by the scenes where Tammy tries to get Jonathon to leave Nate and "take her hand." You deserve an Emmy for your recent scenes!! I can't wait to see what happens next between Tammy and Jonathon!!!!

Hi Stephanie :)

I just had to post and tell you that your character Tammy and Tom's Jonathen have actually manged to steal my viewership from General Hospital of which I have been a fan for the last 6 years ... until this past week when I tuned into Guiding Light and saw Tammy and Jonathen on the screen together .... Now I'm like General what??

I love, love, love the scene's that you have had these past couple of weeks, you've been incredible and have made some great choices acting wise, you should be very proud of your work :) I know I am!!!!

I can't wait to see what is in store for Tammy and Jon (hopefully together!)!!!

I'm so glad May's ok my yorkie pup was actually just sick this past week and I was sooooo worried about her she's my baby but she is doing better now :)

Sorry I tend to ramble so I'll shut up now.

Happy working and know that we all are so happy to have you on GL :)

Just jumping on the bandwagon to agree that your scenes have been absolutely riveting. I second the comment that you should get an emmy. Both you and Tom should. I know you must be really excited to be getting such an exciting storyline! And as I've said before - cousins or not - Jammy are HOT!

Glad your kitty is okay. I had a scare with mine last month and he's thankfully doing great now.

Stephanie,

Wow...where to begin? I absolutely love your character on GL. I think the thing with Tammy and Jon is great. I look forward to seeing more about it everyday. It just kills me to see so many other characters changing...especially Cassie. Don't get me wrong, Nicole is great but...she's not Laura Wright ya know? You and Laura had the most chemistry of any of the characters. It must have been hard for you to "start over" with a new Cassie. But anyways I absolutely LOVE you and the show. Keep up the great work!!! You're awesome!

Hey ##NAME##, I was really looking for stuff on Teacup Yorkshire Terriers, but I landed on your blog. More specifically, I ended up on ##TITLE##. Lucky for me 'cause I liked your post enough to stop and make a comment. I don't usually: I prefer to lurk. Maybe it's the 'Peeping Tom' in me, I don't know ;o) . You certainly have got some food for thought. I can't say I agree with everything, but you've certainly got me thinking. And, I'm told, that's not a bad thing! Thanks again!
