It’s Sunday night, and New York has just experienced its biggest snowstorm in history. Last night it was snowing lightly, but nothing was sticking to the ground, so I figured the storm wouldn’t really be that bad. However, when I woke up this morning and looked out the window, everything was white. And the snow was coming down hard. I looked at ChiChi, my dog, and said excitedly, “It’s a snow day!” Then I went back to sleep.

I was basically stuck inside all day, except for my two quick trips to the deli around the corner. It was a great day to get some cleaning done and to do laundry and all of that exciting stuff. I was happy to relax this weekend, after a full and busy week at work. Friday was Scott Bailey’s (Sandy’s) last day working with us at Guiding Light. I’ve become good friends with Scott, and losing him is really hard. Of course, I’m not losing him as a friend, merely as a co-worker. But I cried when our producer brought out a “Good Luck Scott” cake and gave a little speech about what a sincerely good person Scott is. But you better believe I ate a big ol’ piece of cake! Lol. After a long and difficult day at work, everyone went out to celebrate Scott at a bar near the studio. He was leaving early the next morning to head out to L.A.

I have an incredibly stressful week ahead of me. Tomorrow I’ll be shooting one of those “Inside the Light” episodes. (For anyone who doesn’t know what that is, Guiding Light’s been airing special episodes every Wednesday that follow one character or pair of characters through a day. Rather than using the typical soap format, which includes several storylines in each episode, the “Inside the Light” episodes focus on one specific storyline, so that viewers get an inside look at a particular character or couple.)

So anyway, tomorrow I’m shooting most of the scenes from the Tammy/Jonathan “Inside the Light” episode, in addition to scenes from other episodes, as well. Tomorrow alone, I will be shooting nineteen scenes. Yes, nineteen. They’re not easy ones, either. I don’t want to give away any of the storyline, but let me just say that I’ll have to scream and cry and limp, and Tammy will be feeling shock, guilt, hurt, nostalgia, anger, and all sorts of other emotions. Thinking about my workload for tomorrow stresses me out, but at the same time I’m so grateful to have such an interesting, complicated storyline to deal with. It might be hard work, but it’s going to be a fun adventure.

Well, I think it’s time to start memorizing my lines now. Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! Have a great week!

that's very funny that you were emotional, but not too emotional to down a big piece of cake. if i've learned anything, sometimes emotions must take a back seat to cake.

good luck with tomorrow's show. it sounds like your itl will be a great one, although i think i know what happens, i can't wait.

I'm really excited for your ITL. Jonathan's ITL last week was great - I loved the end when he was freaking out in the hotel room and you grabbed onto him and said "Just love me!" It was awesome. So intense. Loved it!

I am sorry that Scott is leaving. I liked him, but I like the Tammy and Jonathan's story line better. I like the both of you. I told my husband about the hotel room and "Get over your problem and love me". Stephanie that line hits home more than you know. The storyline of Jonathan and Nate sound much like my husband and his step-father. We can't wait to see how the writer are going to write the rest of the storyline of Tammy and Jonathan. Have a great week and stay warm.

Hey Stephanie! I can't wait to see your inside the light episode! I've been hoping to see one of Tammy. I can't imagine how hard it was for you and GL to lose Scott. He did an amazing job the past 3 years, and as a fan, I will miss him. :) I've met him the past 2 years at the Gatherings in October, and he was always a sweetheart.

I can't wait to see what is in store for Tammy! Thank you for posting, and letting us know what's new!

Don't you just love snow days... I live in Colorado where we usually have 2 or 3 a year. This year we've had the most beautiful winter weather I miss it. I love reading about your work behind the scenes and little clues as to whats coming up. Thanks for keeping this stay at home mom entertained and taking me away from reality for a short period of time everyday.

Can't wait to see ITL with you and Tom, I hope that all the emotional scenes has nothing to do with Tammy breaking up with Johnathan.

Sorry to hear that Scott is leaving he's a great actor, I hope whatever he does in the future will be successful.

Steph, it's beautiful to watch the snow fall if you don't have to go out in it, but when you have to drive in that much snow...that's no fun.

Steph, just to let you know your doing such a fantastic job, and just keep us the great work.

As always, I loved reading this latest blog. It is really a treat to get your inside stories on filming GL. I can't wait to see your ITL episode. I am sure all your scenes went really well. By now (Sat. night ) your stressful week of filming is over and hopefully you're enjoying a relaxing weekend. Thanks, Stephanie for sharing your interesting stories with all your fans. I love you and Tom Pelphrey together. I'm looking forward to checking out your article in SOD. Need to get it while it's still on the stands!

Hi Steph! I see there is another Amanda I guess I am Amanda from VA?

Anyway...I am behind in reading your blog! You wrote this entry in mid February and here it is March! But I have been busy, busy, busy!

I have to say that there is not much that pleases me more than coming home after a long day and finding Tammy and Jonathan waiting for me on my soap tape. The story is just so good and you are both great on-screen together. I am looking forward to everything that is ahead. I hope GL doesn't cheat us out of any of the powerful storyline potential of this couple! They have plenty of issues that can be slowly worked out. The possibilities are endless! for Scott--how sad to see him go. I remember when I first met Scott. I think he had barely started being SEEN on the show instead of just HEARD. He made a fabulous first impression on me and I have thought he was a terrific guy ever since. It makes me sad to think I probably won't see him again--at least in person. I hope to see him light up the big screen!

In the meantime, I am still glued to my "small screen" to watch you and Tom. You really do get better and better, and I mean that sincerely.

Speaking of better and better...tell Tom I am rooting for him 100% on Emmy night. I really like Jesse Soffer, too....but truly, no one comes remotely close to Tom. He really is a phenomenon, and I will be sorely disappointed if he is passed over again this year. There is no contest!

I Love you're blog! I love your charactor on guiding light, and the storyline of you and jonathan. I was so sad when you guys didn't get married in today's episode. But knew something fishy was up when scott (sandy) was like i'm leaving tonight. I'm so excited to see were this is heading! Especially since i just read on guidinglights site on cbs that Justin Klosky comes back as joey! And aw snow days! there so much fun, Last year at this time, or close to it we had a huge snow storm! It was so crazy, but really fun. Our winter has been crazy this year though! After christmas the snow just seemed to stop sticking so much. And this weekend is supposed to get up to 63! Weird for michigan weather! Keep up the good work! I can't wait to see what's ahead!

Steph, you did such an amazing job with the Cliff scenes today. Your portrayal of Tammy's guilt/shock/confusion was gripping, and it had me in tears for her. Thanks for the great show! You TOTALLY should have been nominated for an Emmy this year - what were they thinking?!

When Scott/Sandy fell off the cliff i literally didn't believe I was a huge fan of his and i think that he deserves great things in his future. I love what their doing to you and Jonathan's storyline with that whole drugging Tammy thing. It's quite the great twist to the story. I hope everything works out between the two of them. Anyway, you are always and forever my favorite character!!!!
